     John Gilman Derick was born on 20 August 1813 at Lacolle, Iberville Co, Quebec.1 He was the son of John William Derick and Sarah Lea. John Gilman Derick was baptized on 1 March 1815 at Caldwell's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 He died on 6 December 1884 at Champlain, Clinton Co, New York, at age 71. He was buried at Maple Hill Cemetery, Rouse's Point, Clinton Co, New York.
