Gilbert Henry Covey

     Gilbert Henry Covey was born on 15 October 1845 at Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke Co, Quebec. He was the son of Gilbert Yearns Covey and Julia A. Currier. Gilbert Henry Covey was baptized on 2 November 1845 at Cathedrale de St Michel de Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke Co, Quebec. He married Mary Amanda Smith, daughter of William Smith, circa 1867.¹ Gilbert Henry Covey died between 1910 and 1920.
     He appeared on the census of 1881 at Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec; Gilbert H. Covey, 35, Mary A., 33, Susan, 14, Ida M., 12, Henry F., 9, Mary S., 5, Gilbert Y., 3, and Alfred B., 2. The family were 2nd Day Adventists.² As of 28 November 1884, Gilbert Henry Covey was also known as Henry Covey He was also referred to as Henry Covey on the births of his children recorded in the Vermont VR.³ He appeared on the census of 25 June 1900 at Lunenburg, Essex Co, Vermont; Gilbert H. Covey, 54 (Oct 1845), wife Amanda, 53 (Jul 1846), Sarah, 14 (Aug 1885), and William, 9 (Jul 1890). Both children born Vermont. He appeared on the census of 21 April 1910 at Lunenburg, Essex Co, Vermont; Henry G. Covey and wife Mary L., both 68 were living in the household of John W. Covey, 25.⁴
