Rachel Monroe was born on 18 August 1846 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 She was the daughter of Richard Monroe and Mary Salls. Rachel Monroe was baptized on 7 February 1847 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2 She married Joseph H White on 14 April 1864 at Bristol, Addison Co, Vermont.3
Rachel Monroe and Joseph H White appeared on the census of 14 June 1880 at Bristol, Addison Co, Vermont; Joseph White, 47, Rachel, 33, George, 11; Jessie, 10; Ira, 8; and Addie, 5. All were born in Vermont. They were living next door to Rachel's parents, Richard and Mary Salls Monroe.4
