1 The record as copied by someone from the ArchDiocese of Sherbrooke indicated he was baptised 17 January 1858 or 1859. The original record will need to be examined to ascertain the exact date. Alvin was said to be 8 1/2 months old when baptised at Stanstead. He appeared on the census of 1880 at
Lawrence, Essex Co, Massachusetts; Alvin Covey was 21, living with the family of Levi Emery in a house with other Canadia boarders.
