Louise Jane Covey

     Louise Jane Covey was born in February 1868 at Canada.^1,2 She was the daughter of Gilbert Yearns Covey and Julia A. Currier. Louise Jane Covey married Rodolpho M. Handy, son of Daniel A. Handy and Jennie A. Rayworth, on 24 May 1899 at Chicopee, Hampden Co, Massachusetts; Rodolpho M. Handy was aged 31, and Louise J. Covey, was 30, also of Chicopee.^3,2 Louise Jane Covey died after 1932; Louise was named as beneficiary to her brother Hiram Edmond's estate and she was living in Charleton, Massachusetts in 1932.
     She lived in 1889 at Lowell, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; She is the only Covey listed in this 1889 directory, so it may be that this was the Louisa Covey, daughter of Gilbert, whose family was residing in Lawrence.⁴ She and Rodolpho M. Handy appeared on the census of 10 January 1920 at Barre, Worcester Co, Massachusetts; Rodolpho Handy was aged 52 and Louise J., his wife, was 51. No children listed. Louise had come to the US in 1869 and had been naturalized in 1899. Her parents were listed as father born New York, mother born in Canada.⁵
