George Oscar Spoor

     George Oscar Spoor was born on 5 January 1824 at Caldwell's Manor, (now Missisquoi Co), Quebec. He was the son of William Spoor and Francis Worden. George Oscar Spoor was baptized on 24 February 1829 at Sabrevois, Iberville Co, Quebec.1 He married Almeda Scott, daughter of John Scott and Mary Tallman, on 3 February 1848 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont.2 George Oscar Spoor died on 23 February 1905 at Ellenburg Depot, Clinton Co, New York, at age 81.1 He was buried at Sheldon Cemetery, Ellenburg Depot, Clinton Co, New York.1
     He appeared on the census of 1880 at Ellenburg, Clinton Co, New York; George Spoor, 54, Almeda, 52, Eber H., 28, Cecilia, 23, Biron, 22, William, 18. All family members were born in Canada.3
