Abigail Darbe was born on 2 April 1800. She was baptized on 12 April 1872 at Sutton, Brome Co, Quebec. She married J. Seymour Salls, son of Jacob Salls and Margaret Taylor, on 16 April 1827 at Dunham Anglican Church, Dunham, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; This date and info was also found in her Declaration in 1845 before Leon LaLanne, notary. "Firstly, that in the month of April which was in the year one thousand and eight hundred and twenty, she was united to the said late Seymour Salls in the holy bonds of matrimony by the Rev. Charles C. Cotton, Rector of the Parish of All Saints in the county of Missiskoui...that at the day of their union, her said late husband was possessed of but a few articles of personal property, that she lived with her said late husband until the month of June...one thousand eight hundred and forty one, when he thought proper to leave the Province and pass into the UpperProvince aforesaid where he died as above stated in the month of December..."1,2 Abigail Darbe died in 1874. She was buried at Scott Cemetery, Scottsmore, Quebec.
In Lalanne's notarial records is a document dated 24 July 1845 - Abigail Darbe of Brome late wife of Seymour Salls, who died Dec 1841, called Cayuga, York, Grand River, Upper Canada. In Apr 1820 she was married by Rev. Chas Cotton, Rector of All Saints. She lived with him [Seymour Salls] until June 1841 when he left for Upper Canada. When he left he was destitute of any property.
Abigail Darbe Salls was living with son Seymour Salls and wife Urania during the 1861 census of Sutton, Missisquoi County. She was then aged 55, and was born in Vermont.2,3
