     Enoch Salls was born circa 1775 at Canaan, Columbia Co, New York. He was the son of Hix Salls and Mary Briggs. Enoch Salls was baptized on 4 June 1775 at King's District, Columbia Co, New York.1 He married Rebecca Filer, daughter of Samuel Filer and Jerusha Hopping, circa 1795. Enoch Salls died on 26 August 1833 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2 He was buried on 28 August 1833.
     A Donation involving Enoch Salls and Rebeckah Filer and "Polly their beloved daughter" and husband William Kirtland passed before notary Leon Lalanne on 8 Dec 1822. Enoch and Rebecca were then living in Caldwell's Manor "formerly called the seigniory of Foucault", and gave Polly Lot #18 in the fifth Range in Caldwell's Manor. This land was originally conveyed to Enoch "partly by Hix Salls, Esq by deed dated 6th day of August AD 1810, executed before L. Barbeau, another part by Henry A. Curtis by deed dated the 22nd day of August AD 1805 and the remainder by Solomon Curtis by deed dated the 12th day of February AD 1817, - both of the last deeds executed by Leon Lalanne.3
