William Dean Moss

     William Dean Moss was born on 18 October 1913 at Putnam, Windham Co, Connecticut.^1,2 He was the son of William Edward Moss and Rhoda M. Dean. William Dean Moss married Priscilla S. Elliott on 21 March 1942.¹ William Dean Moss died on 6 October 1990 at age 76.²
     In a letter from William Dean Moss to my aunt, Muriel F. Dean on 28 Aug 1974, he mentions that his grandmother, along with his aunts Sara and Molly (Mary Ann) went to England in 1925 and visited family in York. Whether it was York city or Yorks, is anyone's guess. He went on to say that his Uncle John (John Munday Dean Jr) went to England twice after World War II and visited York and the Isle of Wight. "At that time I never had sense enough to listen to Uncle John or Aunt Sara and remember names. During the last war there was talk about some of the younger members of the family coming over for the duration."¹
