     John Salls was born circa 1779 at Canaan, Columbia Co, New York.1 He was the son of Hix Salls and Mary Briggs. John Salls was baptized on 8 July 1781 at Canaan, Columbia Co, New York; The Salls Book has John, b. 1807 as Hix' son. Obviously, John b. ca 1779 is a much better fit.1 He married Sarah Crawford, daughter of Henry Crawford, circa 1801. John Salls died on 12 June 1818 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; John died by drowning.
