John Arthur Salls was born on 6 October 1889 at N. Burke, Franklin Co, New York.1 He was the son of Arthur Eugene Salls and Mary Jane Gillett. John Arthur Salls married Katie Bettcher.2 John Arthur Salls died on 6 July 1956 at Alberta at age 66.

He gave his birthdate, and said his next-of-kin was Arthur Salls of Chateaugay, NY. He was then aged 28, 5 foot 8 inches, dark complexion, blue eyes and black hair, with a scar on his right forearm.1
