Cornelia Sarah Filer was born on 23 January 1844 at Foucault, (now Missisquoi Co), Quebec.1 She was the daughter of Isaac Hammond Filer and Margaret Wilson. Cornelia Sarah Filer was baptized on 28 July 1844 at St George's Anglican Church, Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2 She married William Johnson Derick, son of John Philip Derick and Elizabeth Hurlbut, on 27 April 1887. Cornelia Sarah Filer died on 13 June 1930 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec, at age 86.
