George Herbert Scott

     George Herbert Scott was born on 2 February 1855 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He was the son of Robert Scott and Lany Miranda Young. George Herbert Scott was baptized on 11 March 1857 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.¹ He married Isabelle Hamson on 29 September 1883 at Burke, Franklin Co, New York; They were married by the Rev. Marshall White, Baptist Minister at Burke.^2,3,4 George Herbert Scott died on 25 December 1932 at Burke, Franklin Co, New York, at age 77; George Scott came to Burke when only four years old. He was originally a carpenter but then later purchased a farm which he ran until his death at age 78 years. He had married Isobel Hampson 49 years previous. He was survived by his widow, and a daughter, Mrs. Lee Tucker and one son, Kenneth Scott.³ He was buried on 27 December 1932 at Morningside Cemetery, Malone, Franklin Co, New York.³
     He and Isabelle Hamson appeared on the census of 25 April 1930 at Burke, Franklin Co, New York; George H. Scott, 75, Belle, 70, both b. Canada. They were maried at ages 27 and 22, respectively.²
