     Alfred William LaCharity was born circa 1875 at St Johnsbury, Caledonia Co, Vermont.1 He married Nellie Scott, daughter of Robert Scott and Phebe Jane Crippen, on 31 May 1896 at Somerville, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts.1,2
     Alfred William LaCharity appeared on the census of 1910 at 556 East Sixth Street, Boston, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts; Alfred W. LaCharity, 35, b. VT, Nellie, 33, b. NY, Avis M., 10, Nina E., 8 and Ruth E, 5, all born MA. Nellie had borne six children with three still living.1 He appeared on the census of 3 January 1920 at 1100 Sea Street, Quincy, Norfolk Co, Massachusetts; Alfred W. Lacharity, 44, b. VT, Nellie M., 44, Avis M., 19, Nina E., 18, and Ruth E. 15. Alfred was a house painter and daughter Avis was a bookkeeper for a milk company.3 He appeared on the census of 1930 at Quincy, Norfolk Co, Massachusetts; Alfred W. La Charity, 55, b. VT; Nellie M., 53, b. NY, Avis M., 30, Nina E., 28, Ruth E., 25, all born Massachusetts.4
