     Mary Jane Scott was born on 22 August 1848 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1,2 She was the daughter of John Scott Jr. and Sarah Young. Mary Jane Scott was baptized on 10 September 1853 at Clarenceville Methodist Church, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.3 She married Leander C. Barnes, son of Cyrus P. Barnes and Lois Downey, on 10 March 1866. Mary Jane Scott died on 24 September 1926 at Chateaugay, Franklin Co, New York, at age 78.2 She was buried at East Side Cemetery, Chateaugay, Franklin Co, New York.2
