     Lydia Miranda "Elizabeth" Scott was born on 5 May 1853 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. She was the daughter of John Scott Jr. and Sarah Young. Lydia Miranda "Elizabeth" Scott married Martin Van Buren Vincent, son of Zachariah Vincent and Harriet Twishmond, on 23 February 1871. Lydia Miranda "Elizabeth" Scott died on 20 November 1924 at 154 Water Street, Massena, St Lawrence Co, New York, at age 71; "Mrs Elizabeth Scott Vincent, 71, wife of Martin Van Buren Vincent, died Thursday evening about 9:00 o'clock at the home, 154 Water Street, following a long period of failing health due to old age
She was born in St. Johns, P.Q., May 5, 1853....When she was four years of age the family moved to Burke, Franklin county, where she resided until coming to Massena eight years ago. Mrs. Vincent often recalled the old days at Burke when she used to ride with her father behind an ox team over a corduroy road taking bark(?) from Burke to Chateaugay.
Her marriage took place at Chateaugay February 23, 1870, Mr. Vincent being a farmer. He retired eight years ago and they came to Massena, building the present home on Water Street.
Surviving, besides her husband, are three daughters, Mrs. Henry Fitch, of Fort Covington, Mrs. Roy Dougherty of Burke, and Mrs. James Burke, of Massena; one son, Zachariah Vincent, of Burke, one adopted son, Martin Vincent, of Chicago, Ill; three sisters, Mrs. Cela Cook, of Boston, Mass., Mrs. Zachariah Vincent, of Rock Island, Vt., and Mrs. Leander Barnes, of Chateaugay; two brothers, Myron Scott, of Derby, Vt., and Asel Scott, of Huntingdon, P.Q., and six grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sunday morning at 9:00 o'clock from the home...body was taken to Burke..."1 She was buried on 23 November 1924 at Burke Center Cemetery, Burke, Franklin Co, New York.1
