François Pilet

     François Pilet was born circa 1630.¹ He was the son of Pierre Pilet and Louise Limoleau.¹ A contract for the marriage of François Pilet and Françoise Loisel was signed on 27 December 1670 at Boucherville, Quebec; Francois Pillet was a maitre charpentier of Boucherville, originally from the parish of Polac, Eveche de Saintes, Xaintonge. His father was listed as Louis Pierre Pillet, deceased and his mother was Louise Semilau (not present). Francoise Loisel was daughter of Louis Loisel and Marguerite Charlotte of Montreal.^1,2 François Pilet died on 8 September 1688 at Boucherville, Quebec; Francois Pilet of Boucherville was aged 58 years.^1,2 He was buried on 9 September 1688 at Boucherville, Quebec; Witnesses included two of his brothers-in-law: Jean Baeucamp and Joseph Loisel.^1,2
     He appeared on the census of 1688 at Boucherville, Quebec; Francois Pillet, charpentier, aged 48, Francoise Loisel, 26, along with children: Madeleine, 12, Jeanne, 10, Joseph, 6 and Barbe, 3.
