Rebecca Smith

     Rebecca Smith was born on 7 August 1850 at Elgin, Huntingdon Co, Quebec. She was the daughter of George Smith and Marion Shaw. Rebecca Smith married Rodney Scott, son of John Scott Jr. and Sarah Young, on 21 July 1896 at Chateaugay, Franklin Co, New York; They were married by Rev. E.E. Cheeseman; Rodney was of Burke and Rebecca Smith was of Holyoke, Massachusetts.^1,2 Rebecca Smith died in January 1929 at Amherst, Hillsborough Co, New Hampshire, at age 78; Rebecca had been living with her sister and family in Amherst since her husband, Rodney, passed away. Her remains were brought to New York on Tuesday, Jan 29th. Her step-son, Norris, was of West Fairlee, VT.³ She was buried on 29 January 1929 at Sandy Knoll Cemetery, Chateaugay, Franklin Co, New York.³
     She left a will on 17 May 1911 at Burke, Franklin Co, New York.⁴
