     Elizabeth Pearson was born circa 1770 at England.1 She married Eli Shores, son of Richard Shores and Dorothy Eccles, on 29 August 1790 at St Peter's, Leeds, Yorks, England; Witnesses were John Lockwood and Thos. Atkinson.2 Elizabeth Pearson died circa May 1840 at Leeds, Yorks, England; Although no proof, since this writer has not ordered the certificate, it is likely that Elizabeth was the Elizabeth Shores, who died third quarter 1840 in Leeds.3
     On 19 Apr 1804, Eli Shores and wife Elizabeth were committed to the West Riding House of Correction in Wakefield, West Yorks. The registration indicates Eli was 38, and Elizabeth was 34. The sentence was imprisonment or servitude. This writer has no other information on their case. Was it crime, or unable to pay debts?1
