Sarah Stanley

     Sarah Stanley was born circa 1802 at Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Job Stanley and Isabella Dyer. Sarah Stanley married David Daley, son of Joseph Daley and Abigail Hammond, on 20 December 1821 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick. Sarah Stanley died on 6 January 1882 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; Her newspaper obituary, dated 7 January 1882, mentions she was the widow of David Daley, Esquire, and that her funeral would be held from the residence of her son-in-law, Walter Lane, on Wright Street.¹ She was buried on 8 January 1882 at Saint John Co, New Brunswick.¹
     She appeared on the census of 1881 at Ward 4, Portland, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; Sarah Daley, aged 76, born the United States, widow, and living in the household with James Morrison and his wife, her daughter, Patience, and a John Daley, then aged 17.²
