     Amasa Edward Thornton was born circa 1863 at New Brunswick.2 He was the son of Elisha Thornton and Jerusha (?).2 Amasa Edward Thornton married Florence Elizabeth Daley, daughter of Joseph Daley and Mary Hepburn.
      Amasa Edward Thornton was also known as Isaiah Thornton. He appeared on the census of 1901 at Northampton, Carleton Co, New Brunswick; Amasa Thornton, 37, Florence, 34, Lena, 10, Mable, 9, Harry E., 7 Roy, 5, Stella, 3, and Vita, 1. On this particular census, birth month and day were given, but not the year. I have guesstimated the year using the assumption that they would be the age given during 1901.3
