Joseph Stanley was born circa 1804 at Portsmouth, Rockingham Co, New Hampshire. He was the son of Job Stanley and Isabella Dyer. Joseph Stanley married Elizabeth Cronk on 12 March 1828 at Saint Andrews Church, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; They were both of Portland parish.1 Joseph Stanley died on 18 September 1886 at Mispec, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.2
