     William Ernest Lane was born on 4 July 1888 at 160 Wright Street, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.1,2 He was the son of Walter Lane and Isabella Daley. William Ernest Lane married Esther Gladys Foster on 2 March 1915 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.3 William Ernest Lane died on 11 March 1922 at 160 Wright Street, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick, at age 33. He was buried on 29 April 1922 at Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; Lot #759, Spruce Avenue.
     After William Lane's death in 1922, his three young children moved to Sussex, New Brunswick to live with their aunt and uncle, Roberta and Harris Reid.2
