Susan Ann Cole

     Susan Ann Cole was born circa 1829 at New Brunswick.¹ She was the daughter of Levi Cole and Susan (?).¹ Susan Ann Cole married William Charles Wood, son of William D. Wood and Olivia Hovey Williams, on 21 June 1848 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; The marriage announcement lists Susan as the second daughter of the late James Cole.² Susan Ann Cole died on 13 October 1880 at Stoneham, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; Susan was 51 years and three months old.^1,3 She was buried at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; Susan is in a single grave, in Lot 20, Section 1.
     She and William Charles Wood appeared on the census of 16 July 1870 at Brighton, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; William Wood, 44, carpenter, b. Nova Scotia, Susan A., 41, b. Nova Scotia, and Francis A., 8, b. Nova Scotia. Also in the household was the family of John H. Lynch, 46, carpenter, also b. Nova Scotia. His wife Jane, b. England and five children, all born Massachusetts were those listed.⁴ Susan Ann Cole and William Charles Wood appeared on the census of 12 June 1880 at Stoneham, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; William C. Wood, 54, laborer, b. Nova Scotia, mother and father both b. Nova Scotia; Susan A., 51, b. Nova Scotia, as were her parents; Francis A., 17, cutlery, b. New Brunswick, and Etta G.F., 4, adopted daughter, b. Massachusetts.⁵
