     William G. Sylvester was born on 20 February 1849 at Plymouth, Plymouth Co, Massachusetts.1,3 He was the son of William B. Sylvester and Mary B. (?).2 William G. Sylvester married Emma Ida Scott, daughter of Samuel Scott and Sarah Matilda Hazen, on 11 October 1874.4,5
     William G. Sylvester appeared on the census of 1880 at Cherokee, Cherokee Co, Iowa; William G. Sylvester, 31, Emma, 23, Minnie, 4 and Freddie, 3. William was a druggist.1 He appeared on the census of 4 June 1900 at Buncombe, Sioux Co, Iowa; W.G. Sylvester, 53, Emma I., 40, ben married 25 years with six children. Living with them were Fred W., 23, Maud, 18, Lillie, 14, Fay, 12, and Ethel, 8, all children born Iowa.6
