John Kerr

     John Kerr was born circa 1787 at Cornwallis, Kings Co, Nova Scotia. He was the son of James Kerr and Elizabeth Brown. John Kerr married Hannah Ferguson, daughter of John Ferguson, on 19 May 1812 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick. John Kerr died on 17 March 1861 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; John died at his residence, Reed's Point, Prince William St.¹
     John Kerr is said to have briefly tried farming on his father's land but soon left for Saint John where he became a success "in trade" as an auctioneer. He was a very active member of the Methodist church. John died at his home "Reed's Point, Prince William St." in Saint John.
