     Carolyn Lavinia Gesner was born on 22 May 1809 at Cornwallis, Kings Co, Nova Scotia.1 She was the daughter of Henry Gesner and Sarah Pineo. Carolyn Lavinia Gesner married Ebenezer Kerr, son of James Kerr and Elizabeth Brown, on 3 July 1827 at Cornwallis, Kings Co, Nova Scotia. Carolyn Lavinia Gesner died on 1 May 1890 at Port Greville, Cumberland Co, Nova Scotia, at age 80; "News has been received of the death of Mrs. Caroline Kerr at Port Greville, N.S. at an advanced age. The funeral was held Friday last. Mrs. Kerr was highly respected in Cumberland Co. She was the widow of a brother of David S. Kerr of St. John city and the last of the Gesner family of whom the late Dr. Gesner was a member."2
