During the reign of Elizabeth in 1569, Philip "roceter" of the Tithing of Combe furnished a corslet of armour to the Crown (Emanuel Green, "Certificate of Muster in the County of Somerset: Temp. Elizabeth A.D. 1569, Somerset Record Society, 20 [1904]: 262).
