Jared Alexander Hepburn

     Jared Alexander Hepburn was born on 22 February 1856 at Musquash, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.¹ He was the son of Charles Hepburn and Lydia Trafton. Jared Alexander Hepburn married Alma Beatrice Horton, daughter of Ebenezer Horton and Mary Chase, on 19 November 1884 at Burton, Sunbury Co, New Brunswick.² Jared Alexander Hepburn died on 28 August 1941 at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, Eau Claire Co, Wisconsin, at age 85; Jared died of acute gastroenteritis after a duration of two days. His parents were listed on the certificate, and he was listed as a stationary engineer.³ He was buried on 31 August 1941 at Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire, Eau Claire Co, Wisconsin.³

This census shows everyone born Canada.⁴ He was naturalized between 1906 and 1907; The 1920 census shows Jared and Alma came to Wisconsin in 1887, and were naturalized in 1907. He appeared on the census of 15 April 1910 at Eau Claire, Eau Claire Co, Wisconsin; Jarred A. Hepburn, 54, Alma B., 54, both born Canada, and son Charles, 23, born Wisconsin.⁵ He appeared on the census of 6 January 1920 at Eau Claire, Eau Claire Co, Wisconsin; Jared A. Hepburn, 63, Alma B., 64, and son-in-law Harry A. Larson, 33, Bertha, 32 and grandchildren, Margaret 11, and Harry, 6.
