Elizabeth (?) married George Wait, son of Samuel Wait and Sarah Greene.
Many suggestions have been made about Elizabeth's background. It is quite possible that she is a Briggs or even a Salls. The Salls and the Waits were so close over the years there is a hint that they were familiar with each other back in Canaan in the 1770's. Perhaps since Hix Salls (b. 1752) married a Mary Briggs, presumably in the Canaan area, that the relationship comes from her being a sister to Elizabeth who married George Wait. That would help explain the numerous occurances of the names Briggs and Hix within both families.
