Samuel Tripp was born on 15 November 1751 at Dartmouth, Bristol Co, Massachusetts. He was the son of Timothy Tripp. Samuel Tripp married Mary Howard, daughter of Edward Howard Jr and Phoebe Hart, in 1778.1 Samuel Tripp died on 16 June 1832 at Poughkeepsie, Dutchess Co, New York, at age 80.
He left a will; Samuel listed his wife Mary, and children: Phebe, wife of Robert Haight of Poughkeepsie; Hannah, wife of John B. Gould; Howard; Mary W, wife of Reuben Butt; Samuel Jr; Wesson; Patience wife of Archer McComber of Cayuga Co, and Isaac of Columbia Co.
