Charlotte Buchanan was the daughter of James B. Buchanan and Margaret Kerr. Charlotte Buchanan married John B. Hamilton, son of James Hamilton, on 16 April 1851 at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.1
The marriage record at St Andrew's Church states that Mr. Hamilton was of New York City, NY and Charlotte was of Saint John. The New Brunswick Courier reported the marriage on 19 April 1851, and stated it had taken place at the home of James Kirk. Charlotte may have been living with her aunt Catherine Kerr Kirk and her husband James at the time of her marriage.1,2
