Newton Bryant was born on 1 May 1880 at Grand Manan, Charlotte Co, New Brunswick; Newton Bryant was mistakenly shown as the grandson of George Nelson, when he was his stepson.1 He was the son of Alden Henry Bryant and Mary Elizabeth Stanley.
