Ernest Hugh Chalmers

     Ernest Hugh Chalmers was born on 26 May 1888 at Bathurst, Gloucester Co, New Brunswick.1 He married Zella Winifred Cheyne, daughter of John Frederick Cheyne and Rebecca McLellan Wood, on 1 December 1921 at Bathurst, Gloucester Co, New Brunswick.2 Ernest Hugh Chalmers died on 21 December 1944 at Gloucester Co, New Brunswick, at age 56.3,4 He was buried at West Bathurst Cemetery, Bathurst, Gloucester Co, New Brunswick.5
     Ernest was an ice dealer in the 1920's and 1930's. He was also Mayor of Bathurst for several years before his death.
