John Atkins was born on 1 August 1674 at Eastham, Barnstable Co, Massachusetts. He was the son of Henry Atkins and Bethiah Linnell. John Atkins married Elizabeth Newcomb, daughter of Andrew Newcomb, on 5 March 1700 at Edgartown, Dukes Co, Massachusetts. John Atkins died on 30 January 1732 at Chatham, Barnstable Co, Massachusetts, at age 57.
