John Pease was born in 1608 at Great Baddow, Essex, England.1 He was the son of Robert Pease and Margaret King. John Pease was christened on 20 November 1608 at Great Baddow, Essex, England.1 He married Lucy (?), daughter of Francis Weston and Margeret (?). John Pease married Mary Browning before 1649. John Pease died before 1689; Evidently left the island following the dispute with Governor Mayhew. Not known when or where he died, but it is highly likely it was at Portsmouth, NH, as that is where his widow remarried.2

John Pease emigrated to Salem, Massachusetts at the age of 27, and married into the Weston family, which was embroiled with the local authorities over theology. His father-in-law was banished, and later died in prison. In 1644, the year his father-in-law was banished, his mother and brother died, and John Pease sold his property in Salem and feld to Martha's Vineyard, becoming one of the original settlers there. He remarried and peaceably raised a second family until he joined in the rebellion agianst Governor Mayhew in 1673. John Pease left for the mainland after the Governor reestablished his authority, but it is not known when or where he died.2 He emigrated in April 1634.
