William Lumpkin was born circa 1604 at England. He married Tamesin (?).1 William Lumpkin died between 1668 and 1671 at Barnstable Co, Massachusetts; His estate was probated on 29 Oct 1671.
William Lumpkin was a locksmith while in Norfolk, England. On 8 April 1637, William, ae 33, and his wife Tamesin, ae 34, left London with daughters Ann and Tamesin, and a servant, Thomas Howe, on the "Rose".
William served at Yarmouth as constable, grand juryman, surveyor of highways, deputy to the Colony Court and foreman of the coronor's jury.
In March of 1667, William was fined 10 shillings for disturbance of public worship. He and Peter Worden were said to have been sitting in a corner of the meeting house, conversing in low tone during the service. He left a will on 23 July 1668; William names wife Tamesin, daughter Tamesin, wife of John Sunderling; and grandchildren William Gray, Elisha Eldred and Bethia Eldred.1
