Hannah Griffin was born circa 1837 at Mispec, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.2,3 She was the daughter of Solomon Griffin and Jane (?).1 Hannah Griffin married Solomon Stanley Jr, son of Solomon Dyer Stanley and Martha Bennett Daley, on 8 December 1856 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick. Hannah Griffin married Henry Stanley, son of Henry Stanley and Mary (?), on 15 August 1889 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; They were both widowed, and Hannah had previously been married to a Stanley.3 Hannah Griffin died after 1890.
She appeared on the census of 1881 at Simonds Parish, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; Hanah Stanley, 48, b. Nova Scotia, belonging to the Church of England; Emma J., 22, William, 18, Solomon, 15, A. Ruben, 11, Ester Anne, 9, and Martha, 7, all Methodist. The first four children worked in a cotton factory.4
