     William Henry Daley was born 31 Apr 1845 at Saint John Co, New Brunswick.1 He has also be reported to have been born 31 Apr 1844 New Brunswick William's birthdate was listed on the 1901 census as 31 Apr 1845, but as we all know, April has only 30 days.2,3 He was the son of Henry Daley and Sarah Cronk. William Henry Daley married Mary Delia Pollock on 3 August 1871 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick. William Henry Daley married Clara J. Hampton, daughter of Joseph Hampton, on 21 April 1888 at Saint John Co, New Brunswick; William was aged 39, a widower, and a fisherman, born in Saint John. Clara was aged 28, a widow, and born in Carleton, NB.4 A bond for the marriage of William Henry Daley and Mary Delia Pollock was signed in 1871 at Saint John Co, New Brunswick; Co-Signer was John Trecartin.5 William Henry Daley died on 31 August 1918 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; He was a resident of 16 Guilford, Saint John, probably still living with his son, James Arthur, and his family. His occupation was fisherman and was a Baptist.6
     He appeared on the census of 1881 at Simonds Parish, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; William H. Daly, 30, Mary, 28, Harry L., 7, Sarah J., 5 and James A., 1. The family was Baptist. Also in household were James Pollock, 35, David, 23, Annie, 21 and Maggie 16. The Pollocks were Anglican.7 He and Clara J. Hampton appeared on the census of circa April 1891 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; Wm Henry Daley, 45, Clara, 30, Harry, 17, Sarah, 14, Arthur, 11, Edward, 7, all born New Brunswick; John, 8, and Emma, 7, were born in the US; and Joseph, 0/12, born New Brunswick.8 William Henry Daley and Clara J. Hampton appeared on the census of 1901 at Lancaster, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; William Daley, 55, Clara, 39, John, 19, Emma, 17, Edward, 16, Elizabeth, 2.2 William Henry Daley appeared on the census of 1911 at 16 Guilford, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; William was living with son James Arthur Daley and his family.9
