Daniel McNichol was born circa 1847 at Saint John Co, New Brunswick.1 He was the son of Ebenezer McNichol and Emily Daley. Daniel McNichol died on 28 October 1863 at Quebec City, Quebec, Quebec; "d. Quebec, 28th inst., of inflammation of the brain, age 16, Daniel eldest s/o Eben McNICHOLL of (St. John) city."
His burial record shows he was a seaman from the ship "Favorite" from New Brunswick.2,3 He was buried on 30 October 1863 at Hopital de la Marine Cemetery, Quebec City, Quebec, Quebec.3
