Elizabeth Williams was born on 26 March 1775 at Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of Joseph Williams and Hannah Hovey. Elizabeth Williams married Thomas Cox, son of John Cox and Sarah Bodkin, on 12 March 1795 at Cornwallis, Kings Co, Nova Scotia. Elizabeth Williams died on 20 March 1865 at Nova Scotia at age 89.
She appeared on the census of 1851 at Kings Co, Nova Scotia; This may be the Elizabeth Cox enumerated in Nova Scotia as having two women over 50 and one between 30 and 40 yrs old. She was listed next to Thomas Cox, Esq. Many Cox families were listed on the same page including a Daniel Cox, who would fit her son as he was listed as between 30 and 40.1
