Jesse Lawrence Belding was born on 21 February 1865 at Chance Harbour, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.1,2 He was the son of Jesse Belding and Mary Belding. Jesse Lawrence Belding married Mary Sherwood on 24 November 1887 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; Jesse L. Belding was of Chance Harbour and Mary Sherwood was of Prince of Wales, Musquash, and they were married by Rev. J.A. Gordon.3 Jesse Lawrence Belding died on 25 December 1954 at Saint George, Saint John Co, New Brunswick, at age 89; Jesse had been a coastal captain.4,2 He was buried in 1954 at Chance Harbour, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.4
