     Briggs Ephraim Wait was born in July 1857 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1,2,3 He was the son of Enoch Wait and Emily Caroline Tryon. Briggs Ephraim Wait was baptized on 11 November 1900 at Fitch Bay Congregational Church, Fitch Bay, Stanstead Co, Quebec.4 He married Flora Elzira Cutts, daughter of Lorne Cutts and Sarah Wheeler, on 15 September 1881 at Newport Centre, Orleans Co, Vermont.5,6 Briggs Ephraim Wait married Verna Sharon, daughter of William Sharon and Eliza Jane Brown, on 7 February 1906 at Fitch Bay, Stanstead Co, Quebec; Quoting the Stanstead Journal, "At the home of the groom's mother, Mrs. Emily Waite, on Feb. 7, 1906, by Rev. John Pate, Mr. Briggs Waite & Miss Verna Sharon of McConnell, Quebec".7 Briggs Ephraim Wait died on 28 January 1926 at Ayers Cliff, Stanstead Co, Quebec, at age 68.8,9,2 He was buried on 30 January 1926 at Brown's Hill Cemetery, Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec.2,9
     He appeared on the census of 17 April 1891; Briggs Wait, 34, b. Quebec, Methodist, wife Flora, 37, b. US, Emily, 64, mother, b. Quebec, widow, and brothers Alonzo, 41 and Hiram, 40, both b. Quebec.10 He appeared on the census of 1911 at Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec; Briggs Waite, 53, Verna, 29, brother Alonzo, 61 and mother Emily, 84. He was listed as a Congregationalist while all other family members were Adventist.3
