Jacob Wheeler was born on 26 June 1800 at Christie's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He was the son of Joseph Wheeler and Hannah Brown. Jacob Wheeler was baptized on 5 October 1817 at St George's Anglican Church, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 He married Phoebe Briggs Wait, daughter of Briggs Wait and Mary Sheer/Shier, on 31 December 1820 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; St George's Anglican Church. Jacob Wheeler married Sarah Wait, daughter of Briggs Wait and Mary Sheer/Shier, on 9 April 1859 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont.2 Jacob Wheeler died after 1881 at Stanstead Co, Quebec.3
He lived in 1842 at Hemmingford, Huntingdon Co, Quebec.4 On 7 Apr 1859 there was an inventory of property between himself and his late wife, Pheby Wait. Minor children were named as Almeda, aged 17, and Briggs Wheeler, aged 14. Their brother George Wheeler, was acting as sub-tutor to the minors. It had been requested by Jacob, and also Joseph Wheeler, George Wheeler, Samuel Wheeler, and Ebenezer Wheeler, all farmers; and Mrs. Sophronia Wheeler, aged 19, wife of James Shedrick, and at the request of Richard Wilkinson, curator appointed to Hanah Wheeler, daughter of age, Margaret, wife of Abraham Faddon, Pheby, wife of John Miller, and Lady Wheeler, wife of John Bridgeway, farmers, resident in America. All entitled to one eleventh in the estate of their mother, the late Pheby Wait, deceased the 22nd of December last. The inventory was quite lengthy and the whole document contained 14 pages legal sized paper, executed before Brassard, notary.
