Thomas I of Savoy was born on 20 March 1177 at Carbonierres, Savoy, France. He was the son of Humbert III of Savoy and Beatrice of Macon. Thomas I of Savoy married Beatrice (Margaret), daughter of Count William I of Geneva and Beatrix. Thomas I of Savoy died on 20 January 1233 at Aoste, Isere, France, at age 55.
