Olive Mary Ward

     Olive Mary Ward was born on 20 June 1891 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.² She was the daughter of William Alexander Ward and Jessie Campbell. Olive Mary Ward has also be reported to have been born 20 June 1897 Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick, Olive's date of birth was listed as 1897, but she was most definitely Jessie Campbell's daughter. The date of her birth is 1891 in the 1911 census has to be correct, to match up with her birth record. All family members listed in the 1901 census are far off on birth date.³ She married George L. Maynes on 21 October 1920 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.¹ Olive Mary Ward died on 25 April 1941 at St John General Hospital, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick, at age 49; Olive "died after a short illness, resident of 97 St. James Street, at the Saint John General Hospital. Wife of George Maynes and daughter of the late William and Jessie Ward. Survived by a son Donald G. Maynes; two sisters Mrs. Jennie Cheney of Montreal and Miss Charlotte Ward of Beverly, MA."^4,5
