     Joseph Stanley was born on 4 July 1866 at Navy Island, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; The birth of his daughter Pansie lists that Joseph was born at Navy Island.1 He was the son of Henry Stanley and Margaret Jenkins. Joseph Stanley married Margaret Jane McKee, daughter of Thomas McKee and Margaret Hunter, on 17 July 1890 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; Joseph was aged 24, and Maggie McKee was 18, both born Mispec. His parents were shown as Henry and Lizzie and hers as Thomas and Margaret.2,3 Joseph Stanley died on 9 December 1954 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick, at age 88; Joseph was widowed, and living in Mispec as a farmer.4,5 He was buried at McKee Cemetery, Mispec, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.6,7
      Joseph Stanley was also known as Joseph Leonard Stanley On several of the birth records for his children in 1900 and again in 1902, Joseph was listed as Joseph Leonard Stanley.
