Joseph Williams Beynon was born on 11 June 1877 at Boston, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts; Birth records were located with the same date for both Providence and Boston.1,2,3 He was the son of William Charles Beynon and Katherine Notley. Joseph Williams Beynon married Eva L. Hazard on 18 August 1904 at Rhode Island.4 Joseph Williams Beynon married Cora M. Kimball on 1 April 1912 at Rhode Island.4 Joseph Williams Beynon died after 1942.5
On 12 September 1908, Joseph William Beynon enlisted for the draft at Providence. He was a self-employed electrical contractor, working out of his home address of 101 Kenyon Street. Joseph was listed as 5 ft 6 inches, medium build, with brown eyes and black hair.3 He appeared on the census of 15 April 1910 at Burgess Avenue, East Providence, Providence Co, Rhode Island; Joseph Beynon 32, head of household, Eva L., 25 were living with his parents, Charles W., 67 and Kate, 61.6 He appeared on the census of 8 January 1920 at 104 Laura Street, Providence, Providence Co, Rhode Island; Joseph W. Beynon, 42, born RI, Cora, 39 were accompanied by his mother, Katherine W., 73, born Ireland.7 He appeared on the census of 7 April 1930 at 104 Laura Street, Providence, Providence Co, Rhode Island; Joseph W. Beynon, 52, Cora, 49 and his mother, Catherine, 84.8 When Joseph registered for the WW II draft in 1942, he was 64 years old. Everyone born after April 1877 was obligated to register.5
