     Elizabeth Hovey was born on 1 November 1734 at Mansfield, Tolland Co, Connecticut.1 She was the daughter of Daniel Hovey and Elizabeth Slap. Elizabeth Hovey married Nehemiah Wood, son of Thomas Wood and Abigail Hartshorn, on 5 March 1752 at Mansfield, Tolland Co, Connecticut.2
     Nehemiah's first wife was Elizabeth Hovey. The Hovey family later lived on King Street and their neighbors were Bliss Carmen and CHarles G.D. Roberts. These men were professors at King's College at the time.3
