     Matthias Brust was born on 15 April 1754. He was the son of Johannes Jacob Brust and Anna Katherina Wolff. Matthias Brust was baptized on 9 June 1754 at Rhinebeck Flats Reformed, Rhinebeck Flats, Dutchess Co, New York. He married Anna Maria Wagar circa 1785 at Brunswick, Rensselaer Co, New York. Matthias Brust died on 15 July 1835 at Brunswick, Rensselaer Co, New York, at age 81. He was buried at Gilead Lutheran Church, Centre Brunswick, Rensselaer Co, New York.
     Matthew Brust's will was recorded 24 Aug 1835. He named his wife Mary, sons Joseph and William Brust, along with daughter Caty Shaver, "Christeen" S. Clickner, Elvira Brust, and Sarah Howard.
